'84 held a class meeting in Holden last evening at 7.30. But thirty-eight men responded to the notices, which had been posted up during the day. T. J. Coolidge was nominated for the presidency, and re-elected by acclamation. Similarly W. S. Bryant was re-elected vice-president, and G. A. Stewart secretary. A committee consisting of the president, T. J. Coolidge, E. H. Hatch and C. R. Clapp were chosen to draw up resolutions upon the death of F. A. Smith. H. Billings, A. R. Crane and H. C. Shaw were chosen to draw up resolutions upon the death of P. A. Baum, who entured with '84, but afterward went into the Medical School.

RESOLUTIONS ON THE DEATH OF F. A. SMITH, '84.Whereas, It has seemed good to our Heavenly Father to take from our number our esteemed classmate, Francis Albert Smith, -

Resolved, That by the death of our classmate we have lost a pleasant companion, a good scholar, a friend who bore knowing, and who by his frankness, generosity, and manliness, will compel us to miss him.

Resolved, That we tender our sympathy to the sorrowing family and friends of the departed.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our classmate.

Resolved, That these resolutions be published in the Boston and college papers.
