THE Class Day Committee ask the students to assist them in protecting lanterns from being stolen Class Day evening. The wanton destruction and heavy loss of lanterns in previous years has become so notorious that the Committee had difficulty in locating the contract for the illumination. To those who desire a lantern as a souvenir, lanterns will be sold at cost if they will leave their names with the Committee. It should be borne in mind that this is a matter upon which the success of future Class Days depends.

THE '82 members of the K. N. Society left last year some twenty dollars to the members of '83, with the express condition that they are to use it as a contribution to a fund for getting a room for the Society. Some of the '82 men proposed to have a supper from the money left over in the treasury. The majority ruled that money left over thus does not belong to the individual members, but to the Society as such. For this reason it left the money to '83, with the condition above. This year, however, the Society did have the supper on that money. Is such conscientious use of Society funds a principle newly discovered by the debates in the K. N. of '83?
