THE Rev. Dr. C. H. Toy is now conducting morning prayers.

THE College Choir will sing in Charlestown tomorrow morning.

THE Lacrosse Club are now practising regularly in the cage in the Gymnasium.

AYRES, S. S., will probably be unable to try for the University Crew.

MR. H. PREBLE has recovered entirely from his late illness, and is able to resume work with his sections.

SEVERAL additions have been recently made to the order list at Memorial Hall, greatly increasing its attractiveness.

ALL the crews, with the exception of the Freshmen, who have long since begun, have gone into vigorous training.

AT the invitation of the Unitarian Society of that town, the Glee Club will give a concert in Fitchburg on Thursday next.

THE post of head waiter at Memorial Hall is now filled by Mr. Charles Herbert, formerly of the St. James and Grand Union Hotels.

THE following men are now trying for the Junior crew: Goodwin, Bliss, Bryant (captain), Bacon, Burr, Agassiz, Le Moyne, Walker, and Penrose.

THE Pierian Sodality gave a concert in Andover last Friday evening.

IT is announced that a new dormitory will shortly be built, to cost about $250,000.

RECITATIONS end on Wednesday, January 24, and begin again on Monday, February 12.

THE third concert of the Boston Symphony Orchestra took place in Sanders Theatre on Thursday night.

ONE wing of the new Law School has been roofed in, allowing the builders to work on the interior during the cold weather.

THE Reports of the President and Treasurer of the University were presented to the Board of Overseers at their meeting on Wednesday.

WE learn from the Treasurer's Report that the total amount of gifts for immediate use received by the University during the past year was $257,096.68.

PROFESSOR to Junior, who comes late to a quarter-past eight recitation: "We thought you were dead, Mr. Blim." Mr. Blim (solemnly): "Not dead, but sleeping." - Ex.

THE Board of Overseers have again appointed Messrs. Walker and Hall lecturers for the current year, and the Rev. C. P. Parker, a graduate of Oxford, instructor in Freshman Greek and Latin.

MR. AGASSIZ, '84, has been elected Vice-President of the Boat Club. The matter of sending a four-oared crew to the Lake George intercollegiate regatta was referred to the Executive Committee.

FOUR professors are absent this year on vacation, and one, Professor Sophocles, has not as yet been able to return to his duties. Four professorships in the College, two in the Medical School, and one in the Law School are still vacant.

THE rooms of the St. Paul's Society have just been refitted, and present a very tasteful appearance. The first meeting of the year occurred on Wednesday evening, Rev. Percy Browne delivering the first of three brief addresses on "The Limitations of Doubt."
