THREE SHIPS.

THREE ships of mine now sail the sea:

One is my Love, and one is Fame;

But richer far my own Good Name,

My golden ship, my Argosy.

Blow strong, ye winds, press full their sails,

Hasten them on, ye favoring gales;

Safe from the perils of the sea,

O, waft them swiftly home to me.

Dangers in life's tempestuous tide

Obstruct our path on every side,

And Love may flounder in the gale;

Blind Fortune steers her favorite, Fame;

But safe to port must never fail

The golden ship, a Stainless Name.
