EVER FAITHFUL.

THINK'ST thou of me to-night, dear?

For all my thoughts are thine;

Though absent far, thou need'st not fear;

For, long as sun shall shine,

And long as earth shall turn, dear,

The stars their places keep,

Brightly my lamp of love shall burn, -

Its watcher never sleep;

But like the fire in ancient tombs,

Forever shall it last,

Untouched by any stranger hand,

Unstirred by stranger blast.
