The second game between the Harvard nine and the J. L. Whiting nine proved close and exciting. Our batting was weak until the eleventh inning when by a succession of sharp clean hits aided by errors, we scored seven runs, breaking the tie and winning the game. The features of the game for Harvard were the batting of baker and Lowell, the catching of Allen and Lovell's fielding. For J. L. Whiting the brilliant but erratic shortstops play of Sullivan and the fielding of Mullen were noticeable.
