FOOTBALL MEN

About 39 men reported yesterday for spring football practice. We realize other sports are engaging a great many men, but a few more on the football field could be used to advantage. Practice will not begin hereafter until four o'clock. It is hoped that as a result more men will turn out today. R.T.FISHER, Coach   R. K. KANE, Captain

With a squad of 39 men reporting for practice, spring football work started yesterday afternoon at Soldiers Field under the direction of Coaches R. T. Fisher '12 and J. L. Knox '98, while D. C. Parmenter '13, W. B. Felton '19, H. R. Hardwick '15 also assisted in putting the candidates through the first day's workout.

Punting, passing with footballs and medicine balls, and starts were the main features of the practice. The squad will not be divided into teams until the last week of the spring work when scrimmages will be held. In the future practice will begin at 4 P.M. instead of 3.30, and will last between an hour and an hour and a half.

Although Harvard's football system calls for only a three-week's practice in the spring, Yale has already been at work since the first week in February, while Princeton started its pre-season gridiron practice three weeks ago.
