NTS Will Shorten Courses to Meet Officer Demands

Preparations for graduation, the entrance of a new class and a shortened schedule are being completed at NTS (Communications), according to an announcement by Lt. Commander M. E. Paradise. Officer-in-Charge.

A total of 269 men will graduate from Companies A and B at brief ceremonies to be held this morning in Sanders Theatre. Two hundred and thirty-one men from Company A will participate in the exercises along with 38 officers from Company B.

On Monday, November 1, the Communications School will welcome approximately 250 new officers. The men are expected from indoctrination and training schools at Princeton, the University of Arizona at Tucson, Hollywood Beach, Florida, and Fort Schuyler. Others will come from section bases and Naval Districts in various parts of the country.

Commander Paradise says that the program of study for all future classes has been shortened by one month in order to meet the increased demands for trained communications officers. Present Company D, the Class of 8-43, will not take post-graduate work but will graduate with the Class of 7-43 at the end of December. The Class of 9-43, present Company E. is going to class evenings and will take post-graduate work in January, graduating at the end of that month.
