Extension of Lamont hours would cost $20,000 per week rather than the $30,000 estimated by Keyes W. Metcalf, librarian of the College, Thomas W. Lownes, chairman of the Union Committee, disclosed last night.
Lownes quoted a statement from Phillip J. McNiff, head Lamont librarian. McNiff also suggested in the statement that freshmen consider a special study hall, to be set up in the Union until some definite decision can be reached on the extended hours issue.
