The Junior Class will hold a "Preparedness Smoker" in the Union tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. The program arranged by the entertainment committee includes many reels of moving pictures, all dealing seriously or humorously with war and the plans of the United States preparedness. National and popular airs will be played by the Regimental Band.
Franklin D. Roosevelt '04, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, has given his special permission to exhibit the film entitled "America Preparing." Another of the pictures to be shown will be "War As it Really Is." This film was photographed by D. C. Thompson, war correspondent of Leslie's Weekly, while he was under fire. It is recommended by the United States Naval War College and reveals actual trench fighting, the relief work of the Ambulance Corps, and the Germans marching through Belgium.
Among the other pictures to be shown is "With the Army in Mexico," a film taken by a special representative of the Government. It reveals the life of the American troops on the border. The comic films are "Mutt and Jeff in the Trenches" and "Mutt and Jeff in the National Guard," a series of animated cartoons by Bud Fisher.
