In an informal game the Freshman baseball team defeated St. Georges 10 to 2 yesterday at Newport. Lupe Luplen connected for two home runs to lead the Crimson sluggers, while Chuck Klein and Jack Allen were the '39 pitchers.
Today the Yearlings will buckle down to serious business again when they travel to Southboro to engage St. Mark's at 4 o'clock. The '39 team, which has won twelve games and tied one, will without doubt be too strong for the schoolboys and little trouble is anticipated. Pete Stone, making his debut on the slab, will be the Freshman starting hurler.
Though the team still remains powerful in the matter of getting runs, it has lately shown a tendency to be rather careless and as a result both Brown and Dean nearly put an end to its unbeaten string. Today's game may shows whether it has settled down.
