A correspondent of The Dartmouth declares that Dartmouth men do not want to enter the war as privates under Harvard officers. Under the summer camp here Dartmouth men as well as Williams and Brown and Harvard men will have an equal opportunity to prove their worth. The best men will show their ability, irrespective of their alma mater or of sectional ties. It will make small difference to the Germans whether the officers who lead their enemies be university men or college men, so long as they can think swiftly and are brave. It is our task to find those men who can think quickly and who are brave.

We do not fight by club or clique as members of one institution. We fight by regiments and armies as members of one nation.

There is not one Harvard man who would not be glad to serve as a private under Dartmouth officers, provided they are better officers.
