Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Brendon Reilly, the Varsity baseball team's frontline pitcher, will be sent to the mound at Soldiers Field today in an effort to turn back the same Boston College nine which bested the Crimson, 7 to 3, at Newton last Thursday. Festivities commence at 4 o'clock.
Coach Adolph Samborski presumably selected Reilly for today's contest so that he can be rested for use against Dartmouth on Saturday. The Varsity travels to New York tomorrow for a league game with Columbia, in which either Ira Godin or Jack Wallace will be the starting pitcher.
Eagles Flying High
For Boston College, Coach Freddy Maguire is expected to use either Dan O'Brien, who set back the Crimson with only five hits in the Eagles victory last week, or Bob Quirk, who pitched B.C. to its opening game victory over Brown.
Undergraduate baseball fans who have been reluctant to witness the spectacles frequently masquerading as college baseball should have no such fears today. The Eagles have an excellent defensive team, hit well, and are hoping for a bid to the NCAA tournament this spring.
Last season Boston College won 17 games of 19 played, and several members of the 1946 nine were unable to retain their starting positions this year. Among Maguire's crop of promising Freshmen are rightfielder Frank O'Sullivan and catcher John Fitzgibbons, both of whom handle themselves with considerable aplomb.
The Varsity has shown a generally sound defense, and with Reilly on the mound could give the Eagles an interesting contest if the hitting improves. Samborski has made no lineup changed aside from Reilly.
