300th Resolution Due for House Vote Today

Washington -- Passage today by the House of Representatives of the controversial Senate Resolution creating a special Commission to represent the United States government at the Tercentenary celebration this summer was forecast yesterday by Representative John J. O'Connor, of New York, chairman of the House Rules Committee.

The resolution, as finally passed by the Senate, created the United States Harvard Tercentenary Commission to be composed of 15 members with the President of the United States as honorary chairman. This commission is "to extend appropriate courtesies to delegates from foreign universities . . . attending the celebration as guests of Harvard University". The resolution also appropriates $10,000 for expenses.
